For 4 years I had struggled with the look of my office, ever since we moved into our new home. Karla rescued me with a friendly, caring and helpful style for a novice like me but with a clear, “let’s get at it” work ethic. After discussing my needs and design preferences she went to work on a design board. Karla had some excellent suggestions and definitely has a flair for colours and placement. We settled on many beautiful and functional furniture items, a floor covering (love my rug!), lighting (chandelier of course), paint and wall paper. All very affordable as my budget was tight. I now not only enjoy sitting in my office to work but often just curl up in my cozy chair to read a book or just admire my lovely new space. It has become a show piece for our home. I look forward to working with Karla further in the near future and would not hesitate to recommend her work.

We have a day spa that had not been updated in 12 years and Karla was a recommendation from a friend. I am leery of meeting designers as my experience in the past is that they do not listen all that well and don’t get the cost side of things. My experience with Karla was not this way at all. She “held my hand” through the process of pretty significant color changes and put together a wonderful design board for our new furniture and accessories. I used Karla Dreyer Design when I moved into my new condo and with her great ideas and selections of furniture, accessories, paint and wallpaper I have a condo I love. Karla made it into a place where I feel comfortable to be and yet its very stylish and beautiful. She was able to use my existing furniture, suggest pieces I wanted to replace and kept it well within the budget. Its a great mix of some higher end pieces yet there’s fabulous bargain pieces as well that always gets a girl very excited – chique yet cheap!! I have recommended Karla to other friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. She is a great designer who is not over the top expensive, she has a great eye for details, she takes time to understand her clients tastes and vision and she’s beautiful and extremely lovely to deal with.

From the initial consultation to the final product Karla was great. She skillfully took our ideas and thoughts and crafted them into a gorgeous reality. She helped us redesign both the look and layout of our dining & living rooms to create a functional space with designer appeal and within a relatively modest budget. We were downsizing into a downtown condo and needed helping us work with some of our existing furniture with new pieces. Karla was enthusiastic and was able to quickly assess what needed to be done. She helped us pick a paint color that transformed the place-the painter even commented on it! I liked the fact that after Karla discusses your needs, she provides you with the item list to shop when you are able to get the different pieces. She provides you with ongoing support and at any time we were unable to get a piece she was able to provide alternate solutions. I was not sure whether I would need a design service, but Karla was able to provide us with a space that has texture and some interesting pieces including a light fixture, that we would have never chosen on our own. Karla has a great eye and was able to provide us with the assistance to create a space that we love and that we have received many compliments for.

My husband and I recently did a fairly major renovation of our condo - completely redoing the kitchen and opening it up to the old dining area. I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted things to look - but was not confident that my choices would be exactly on target.
Karla took the time to understand my goals and the overall look and feel that I wanted and really made sure that the final look all tied together ( including incorporating a lot of our existing furniture and art ). Her suggestions for backsplash and floor were absolutely what I was looking for and the hardware for the cabinets ( though I was nervous ) turned out to be one of my favourite touches. She gently steered me away from some of my ideas, and suggested options that I may not have considered. I am so happy I trusted her advice.
