Simple Details 🌿. .. You've probably heard me says this a billion times but my favourite part of any project is the styling. Honestly, it really can completely change the entire space. .. The details, touches, moments, additions of what you love. .. One of my favourite projects of 2018 was styling this beautiful home. This coffee table styling was taking items that were in different places and moving them around for the perfect placement. .. It doesn't need to be 'fancy' or complicated. Display what you love. Trend spotting ✔️. .. I'm not one for always following the trends. In home and in life this has led me to a way of 'following the herd.' But, I like to know what's 'on trend' and if it resonates with me, then incorporate for myself and / or my clients. .. As I was client sourcing this week one trend I noticed was blue velvet furniture was back. It immediately made me think of this project. One of my very first design projects. A condo in Yaletown that I still love the design very much. .. I adored these velvet blue chairs and always thought of them as a neutral. To see it come 'back' confirms to me that navy is always a good thing. .. This entire condo was published in Style at Home Magazine and I'm inspired to show you more as looking back it shows, if you love something and know your personal style type, you can create a space that stands the test of time. .. Passion. Here goes a bit of an vulnerable post. This morning I did my first segment for Global News. I prepared for days. I practiced over and over again. I think ‘how can I inspire just one person who may be watching?’ 💕 I treat every segment as such a privilege that I get to share on this platform. When I was a kid I wanted to be in the ‘TV biz.’ I obsessively watched all the news and daytime talk shows with a yearning and intrigue for the industry. 💕 I didn’t end up going that route as I was talked out of it. So for me now being able to share and connect in this way feels full circle 💕 I walk away feeling alive and vibrant and as @oprah says when you love something you will find a way to have it in your life. 💕 It gives you energy and your juice!
